Minnesota Law Enforcement Explorer Competition
The MCPA sponsors a crime prevention scenario at this annual event that benefits hundreds of Minnesota youth interested in law enforcement careers. The event is judged by members of the MCPA Board of Directors, as well as general MCPA members who are interested in assisting at this event.
The Crime Prevention Scenario will consist of a quiz and a Crime Prevention Scenario-Home Security Survey. Explorers will have 10 minutes to take the quiz and 10 minutes to complete the scenario.
The 15 point quiz will include questions based on general crime prevention concepts and information found in the Home Security Guide and booklet, “What to do Before the Burglar Comes”.
Upon completion of the quiz, the Explorers will go directly into a 10 minute scenario. The Explorers will be doing a “Home Security Survey” with the MCPA judges posing as a resident who was a victim of a burglary. The resident will be seeking input from the Explorers on what security improvements can be made to make them less likely of becoming a victim in the future.
